That's the case, according to AFP, which reported the Texan as saying, "John McCain is an American hero..."I'm actually kind of torn because I think he's a great person, he's older and he might be a little bit wiser," but "I like Barack Obama -- just his poise and the way he motivates people -- and that's something that draws me."
"Asked if she would vote for Obama," said the AFP report, "she said: 'That's a secret, but yes!'"
In other related news, the video below shows why we care so much about what our American beauty queens think about politics and current events, and why we're going to do whatever Miss USA tells us to in this election and in every other decision that affects us in everyday life.

I believe I speak for many Americans who are conservative evangelicals. We need to know for certain that McCain is on board with issues we hold dear such as pro-life and family, dealing with terrorists to preserve our liberties, and issues which affect our economy so thzt job security is guaranteed. I am 74, soon 75, and am concerned that healthcare issues be implemented so that the future for me is secured as well healthwise.
I trust that McCain will come out loud and clear on the above. If he does, and we know that he has these issues at heart, then he will have the vote of evangelical conservatives, such as myself, who are an important segment of our population.
Thank you for hearing me out.
I notice that Miss USA, in describing the pros for Obama, lists the same attributes that one would attribute to a beauty queen. Isn't that interesting? Unfortunately, this is the mindset of too many voters. The "older and wiser" attribute she gives to John McCain should be the scale tipper between the two based on her own description, but sadly, she'll be another vote of ignorance for Obama.
To Mr. Overstreet (commenter above): As a southern conservative with deep roots in the evangalistic community, I would like to say that you can vote for John McCain with a clear conscience. There is no other candidate worth their salt in this election when it comes to our mutual values. John McCain is the man.
I agree with Mr. Overstreet 100%. I must add that I will stick with John McCain unconditionally. I can not stay home and have a good conscience as obama is elected. I will vote McCain.
In Christ,

So instead of posting a video of Miss USA, we get a video of Miss South Carolina? It seems a little odd to report on the statements of one person, but then display a video of a different person, even if they both happen to be beauty queens. I guess that's standard operating procedure for conservatives; misrepresent, mischaracterize, and misdirect. All in the hopes of what? Destroying our country for another eight years?
I am a "disabled" veteran of Viet Nam. I am a writer, teacher and musician who believes in demostrative commitment. John McCain has demonstrated his commitment to this great country and I believe his great character and commitment is what America needs at this time. I support him totally and will do whatever I can to assist his campaign.
