The Answer: Because they know it's *not real*

The Question:

Why is it that the anti-theist Left wing goes nuts shrieking "Church and State" and spouting accusations of "[breaking] with longstanding precedent" by "unveil[ing] a presidential campaign ad infused with deeply religious tones" when they look hard enough, with enough prejudice, at the image below to find a phantom religious symbol in it...

...yet there's nary a peep from those same anti-religion Lefties when Barack Obama does this:

Evangelical Christians, and other religious individuals who occasionally feel drawn in by Barack Obama's rapidly-changing message, should keep that question, and the answer, in mind when considering who they want to support -- and why -- this election season.

The anti-religious Left allows Obama and other Democrats to use the imagery and the language of the Church, to attend and be active in churches for two decades-plus, and to speak to people of faith in what they assume is "their" language without argument or protestation (when a fraction of that level of "religious" activity would earn a Republican the title of "theocrat") because the Left knows Obama, et al are simply doing those things out of a need to appeal to the bitter religion-clingers, not because they actually believe or mean them in any way.

I don't believe there is a double standard on the religious issue. I do believe there is such hatred by the left for anything the right does, or stands for, that they take up stupid hypocritical positions. Extreme positions foster extreme prejudice.

John McCain is the only candidate for true christians. How could anyone support a man who goes to a church that espouses hate for one's country and fellow man? It's amazing at how naive some "christians" really are!

Obama is a dangerous man, he reminds me of what the Bible says about a wolf in sheeps clothing. It is so obvious that when he speaks, the words that come out of his mouth do not truly reflect what's in his heart. He will do and say anything to get elected.I look over the list of friends, and the pastor he has chosen over the last twenty years, and I see clearly what his true nature is (the inner man....not the political man)and he is not the man he pretends to be.You can't take a lifetime of making wrong choices, and expect people to believe that you have instantly changed your mindset, and that in just a few months you can disassociate yourself from Rev. Wright and the likes. That's just not going to happen! His interpretaion of the Word of God is that of a carnal mind, not by a man that professes Jesus Christ as his Savior. Any true child of God with any kind of discernment at all recognizes the falsehood of this man! Very scary! If he is elected as president, Rev. Wright & people of his caliber will rule the White House (behind the scenes). His wife and his close friends are filled with the poison of hatred, and they fashion his every thought. I pray for our country, and hope everyone will search their hearts and see that John McCain is the only real candidate fit for the presidency of the United States of America!
